Premier Ski Destination
Niseko United Resorts, Hokaiddo
Niseko United is widely regarded as Japan’s best ski destination. Comprised of four interconnected resorts, Niseko offers world-class terrain, with Grand Hirafu standing out as the region’s main village and the centre of Niseko’s dining, nightlife, accommodation, and ski culture.
Renowned globally for its exceptional night skiing, Niseko allows guests to enjoy perfectly groomed slopes and fresh powder well into the evening — a truly unique alpine experience.
Experience the legendary “Japow” — Niseko’s famous light, dry powder snow, often described as skiing on champagne. With more than 16 metres of annual snowfall, fresh tracks and deep powder conditions await daily.
Planning a longer stay in Japan? Why not extend your alpine experience by attending the AMPED Conference at the neighbouring Hanazono Resort in the week prior to Flying Penguins.
Conference Location
Mercure Niseko Resort (formerly Midtown Niseko Hotel)
Mercure Niseko is conveniently located less than five minutes from the ski lifts and offers complimentary shuttle services to both the Hirafu and Hanazono ski areas. The Niseko United Resort Shuttle also stops directly outside the hotel, providing easy access across the mountain and to the conference venue for those staying elsewhere.
Formerly Midtown Niseko, the property was acquired in July 2026 and is undergoing renovation before reopening as Mercure Niseko in November 2026.
Delegates can also choose from a wide range of nearby accommodation, including popular options such as Chatrium Niseko (4-star), Setsu Niseko (5-star), and an extensive selection of private apartments and chalets.
Looking for something different? The Yumoto Niseko Prince Hotel offers excellent-value, ski-in ski-out accommodation with 3-star facilities.
Niseko is one of the world’s fastest-growing ski destinations, and accommodation is in exceptionally high demand during peak season. Early booking is strongly recommended, as availability becomes limited and prices can increase significantly closer to the conference.
