The Performance Prescription: Coaching medical leaders from experienced to elite
Dr Tabatha Healey
After 20 years as a Medical Oncologist Tabitha turned to performance coaching. She supports leaders to strengthen self-awareness, manage pressure effectively, communicate with confidence, lead others with consistency and credibility all while practicing safely and sustainably.
While therapy often focuses on understanding the past, coaching is future-focused. It supports individuals to identify and embrace the foundations of a fulfilling life — strong relationships, good health, meaningful work, and a clear sense of purpose. Coaching provides a structured, practical framework for growth in both professional and personal domains.
In medicine, consultants frequently serve as informal coaches to peers and junior trainees. This session explores how to intentionally develop your own coaching capability, with a particular focus on strengthening emotional intelligence. Participants will gain practical insights into how to coach and the benefits of having a coach to support sustained success.

F1 helping to fuel high peformance and safety in medicine
Mark Gallagher
Formula One is one of the most competitive and high-performance industries in the world, where success depends on teamwork, precision, innovation and the ability to adapt quickly. In this engaging workshop, best selling author Mark Gallagher draws on more than three decades of experience in Formula One to share how the principles behind elite motorsport performance can be applied in medical workplaces.
Through real-world examples from Formula One, participants will explore the foundations of high-performance teamwork, effective organisational safety and risk management, and leading organisations through constant change. The session enables individuals to reflect on their own teams and produce a practical plan to drive performance and change in their health setting.

During his career Mark has worked with some of the sport’s greatest drivers, including Ayrton Senna, Michael Schumacher and Jenson Button, and continues to collaborate with leading figures across the sport. Creating workplace culture through authentic leadership
Dr Nigel Stewart
This workshop is about building workplace culture that lasts. Nigel started the Northern Regional Paediatric Unit based in Port Augusta almost 30 years ago. This service supported half of South Australia, with Nigel and the growing team travelling extensively to deliver care and build strong relationships with schools, aboriginal communities, hospital staff and families. The unit became renowned for clinical excellence, outstanding training, and a culture so strong that many doctors return — often flying in from interstate to support and be part of the team that shaped them.
In this interactive session, participants will explore their own leadership style. Identifying default leadership patterns and response in conflict, impact of pressure on team dynamics, and how recognising strengths and blind spots are essential in creating high-performing teams. This workshop offers clear, practical strategies to build environments in which people thrive and want to succeed for others.
